FABx21

2020 / 2021 presented unique challenges to events around the world. FABx pivoted gracefully into a digital conference space. With a virtual expo showroom, zoom based presenters and networking opportunities the event still managed to draw a great crowd and share a taste of the Basin with participants via snail mail.

2021 EXPO included # 70 Exhibitors

FABx19

This epic 3 days summit + expo was held at Red Mountain in Rossland. The event included two days of local food and agriculture presentations, the Expo, and programming from the Young Agrarians.

2019 EXPO included #  85 Exhibitors

FABx18

This is where it all began. A key takeaway from the 2018  Agriculture Conference in Cranbrook identified that Basin producers needed a way to market their products and promote the region and network with their peers. FABx was born and launched in Nelson BC as a one day expo.

2018 EXPO  included #  62 Exhibitors

HEAR FROM PAST PARTICIPANTS...

FABX was highly beneficial for Seedz Crackers. Not only did we connect with like minded entrepreneurs which was both educational and inspiring, FABX also allowed us to be discovered by food buyers which has grown our business  significantly.

This opportunity to meet with fellow producers and potential buyers helped us understand some of the direction changes we need to implement at Iron Skillet. We had many helpful conversations at the workshops and at FABx.

It was a great experience to meet with other producers from the Basin and talk about the challenges of the season and to see how others dealt with similar problems and other situations, it was also great to connect with other producers and share ideas, and people from industry.

At Cutter Ranch, we have been farming for over 10 years and have primarily sold our products in the Kootenays and Basin area. When #BasinFood asked us to attend, we were unsure what to expect, never having attended a food industry expo such as this. Even as veteran food producers, this turned out to be an invaluable experience for our business, and would especially benefit a food producer early on in their career. It was an experience that connected and exposed us to a large number food industry customers and services. Also, seeing the interested for the upcoming event October, has us set on attending

I traveled to the Basin Food Expo with local Creston organic farmer. The local lunch provided was exceptional, one of the best conference meals ever, and the people who grew and made the products were at the table. Being an entrepreneur can be lonely and isolating so opportunities to network with peers is valuable not only in terms of business networking but interpersonally as well. The connections I made at FABx lead to some of my favourite wholesale partnerships.
