Mama’s Dumplings

Biography

Mama’s Dumplings has been serving authentic Northern Chinese style dumplings in the Kootenays since 2014. The founder Coco, an immigrant from China, had a strong desire to share her heritage and culture with the community upon her arrival in Canada. Soon she started making dumplings to share with friends and family using her grandmother’s family traditional recipe. Coco named the business “Mama’s Dumplings” to honor her mama and grandmama, who had influenced her love for sharing good food.  From a food stand at the local farmer’s market, Coco has upgraded it to a mobile food truck that travels around the Kootenays. During the past two years, Mama’s Dumplings had successfully pivoted to focus more on the wholesale market. Now these delicious pockets of joy are available in stores and restaurants throughout the Kootenays. While developing the self-distribution to wholesale markets, Coco quickly realized the unique shipping challenge in the Columbia Basin area. She then purchased a reefer van and founded Advancit Logistic to help other food producers with an alternative shipping solution.
