Speaker Spotlight: Amanda Goodman Lee 🍯 At this Speaker Spotlight: Amanda Goodman Lee 🍯 At this year’s Basin Food Summit & Expo (November 6–8 in Nelson, BC), we’re buzzing with excitement to welcome Amanda Goodman Lee, Queen Bee and Co-Owner of @honeybeezen Apiaries - producers of award-winning, sustainably crafted honeys from the Kootenays.

Amanda’s passion for beekeeping began with a daring “beard of bees” experience in 2010, a spark that blossomed into a thriving business and lifelong calling. Today, she and her team at Honey Bee Zen Apiaries produce some of BC’s most celebrated honeys while advocating for transparency, sustainability and authenticity in the honey industry.

Join her for Hive Wisdom: A Comparative Exploration of Leadership and Honey Bee Colonies 🐝on November 6 at 3:30pm at Mary Hall at Selkirk College.

This year’s FABx theme, Pollination, couldn’t be more fitting for Amanda’s talk. Drawing inspiration from the intricate world of honey bees, she explores how their cooperative, purpose-driven colonies can teach us timeless lessons about leadership, teamwork and community. Just as pollination helps ecosystems thrive, Amanda shows how thoughtful leadership can help organizations and people flourish together.

Join Amanda as she shares her hive wisdom with inspiring connections between the natural and human worlds that remind us what it means to lead, collaborate and pollinate positive change.
