FABx2023 aims to strengthen our local food community by fostering vital connections between producers and buyers like you, offering opportunities to forge relationships with local farmers, wineries, distilleries, fellow chefs, exceptional local product producers and more. As the event approaches, we have exciting news that will enhance your experience and make attending a breeze!
Partnership with Buy BC & Chef Ned Bell. We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Buy BC and the participation of renowned Chef Ned Bell who is known for his passion for sustainable seafood and supporting local producers. Chef Bell is excited to engage our regional chefs and explore ways to incorporate BC and the Basin’s finest into local menus.
You will also have the option to join Chef Bell for an exclusive tour of local beef farm Yaqan Nukiy Farm’s ranching operation. We’ll share some cured beef samples with you and take you on a good old fashion tractor ride to visit the cattle and learn about the bands ranching techniques.
A New Chef Shuttle Bus Service. To further facilitate your attendance at the Basin Food Expo, we’ve arranged a convenient shuttle bus on November 3rd, departing from Nelson at 11am and returning by 6:30-7pm. Tickets are just $25 each, and cover: a delightful seasonal local Indian lunch at the event, the optional exclusive tour of Yaquan Nuki Ranch with Chef Bell, and admission to our Food & Buyers Expo with canapés and a local cash bar. At the Expo you will meet more than 40+ producers and taste new products we hope will inspire your menus and build new relationships with local producers. With the sponsorship from Gordon Food Service, this shuttle service has been made possible! GFS will also be attending the Food & Buyer Expo seeking out new regional products, and we are thrilled to have them joining the expo this year.
